Established in 2013 in the heart of the 8th district of Lyon, Restaurant Marguerite first opened its doors in a bourgeois villa built at the start of the 20th century and which once owned by Marguerite and Auguste Lumière.

Situated in the Monplaisir district of Lyon, our Restaurant Marguerite offers an elegant and warm setting with three dining rooms and several private rooms. 


Listed as a historical monument, this renovated house has been decorated by Alain Vavro in order to provide you with a friendly atmosphere.

The Restaurant Marguerite, perfectly situated in Lyon 8, is open every Sunday, Monday and public holidays.

The Chef of the Restaurant Marguerite

Passionate about gastronomy from a very young age, Chef Mathieu Barat began his culinary journey by earning a CAP in Pastry Arts. He later opened his own food truck in western France, in Nantes. He then left France for Japan, where he lived for three years. This period proved to be an intense learning experience, during which he discovered many artistic disciplines—particularly the art of comics—which deeply influenced his culinary creativity.


Upon returning to France, Chef Barat joined the Maisons Bocuse in May 2021 as Chef de Partie at Restaurant Marguerite. Today, he is one of the key figures within our establishments. For him, cooking is about simplicity: quality ingredients, flawless execution, and above all, the joy of sharing.

Before joining Restaurant Marguerite, Emmanuel Le Rest began his career at the Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney as a Chef de Rang, followed by a position at Sofitel London St James from 2017 to 2019. He then spent the winter season at the Chandolin Boutique Hotel before joining the InterContinental Marseille in 2020 as Assistant Manager.


One year later, he joined the Bocuse Group and was appointed Manager of Restaurant Marguerite in September 2022.
