Situated ideally in the 9th district of Lyon, this restaurant has a stunning view on the Saône river. The open kitchen will surprise you with a truly unique view of the Chefs and their team in action, displaying their toques like the master of the place, Paul Bocuse.

Modern cuisine with a touch of exoticism

The Brasserie L'Ouest distinguishes itself by its island-inspired cuisine. We also offer traditional brasserie dishes such as our well-known beef tartare with a green salad and homemade French fries. 

Our restaurant on the banks of the Saône river offers you, all year long, its signature dishes conceived by our Chefs: Milanese veal, tuna steak or even grilled or fileted sole served at your table. For dessert, enjoy our incomparably crunchy Grand-Mère waffles.

The chefs of the Brasserie L'Ouest

Chef Jean-Marie Le Rest, who is passionate about cooking and traveling, joined the French Navy after obtaining his cooking diploma. He embarked on different ships for a period of nine years during which he traveled to more than seventy countries. An enlightening experience that has allowed him to get to know several cultures and knowledge from all over the world.

In 2008, he integrated the kitchens of the Hôtel de Matignon in Paris with Christophe Langrée, a renowned chef. After spending four years in the service of the Prime Minister, he headed for Australia to work as Chef de Cuisine at the French Embassy and then as Chef de Cuisine at the French Embassy in Rome,Italy. Finally, in 2020, he settled in Lyon as Chef of the Brasserie L'Est, then Chef of the Brasserie L'Ouest in Lyon 9. For Chef Le Rest, cooking is a passion and the foundation of genuine happiness! 

 

Prior to joining Bocuse Restaurants & Brasseries, Chef Lionel Lelarge had gained many years of experience while working in various cities of France. In his many enriching experiences, Chef Lelarge was, amongst others, commis de cuisine at the Auberge de Noves (Relais & Châteaux) and also served at the Carlton in Cannes. In 1994, he relocated to Lyon, the capital of gastronomy, as Chef de Cuisine.

The team of the Brasserie L'Ouest

Laurent Chamaillé, the manager of the Brasserie L'Ouest, warmly welcomes you everyday since its opening in 2003. Marie, Raphaël and Alexis are also part of the team who  makes your experience everlasting . Similar to a theater play, they create an unbeatable four-person team in this incessant whirlwind. 

The open kitchen, run by Chef Le Rest and Chef Lelarge, provides a breathtaking view of the excitement in the kitchen during service.

It is thanks to this outstanding team that the Brasserie comes to life every day.
