A typical Lyon’s restaurant

The Brasserie Le Nord, a typical Lyon restaurant, will carry you back to another world with its old-fashioned decoration, its wooded tones and its magnefic chandeliers and stained glass windows.

Established in 1994, the first Bocuse brasserie and one of our must-see restaurants is  based in the heart of Lyon, near the Palais de la Bourse and the Opera of Lyon. This traditional restaurant marks the beginning of the Brasseries and Restaurants whose success has grown tremendously since then.

A traditional cuisine

Our restaurant based in the 2nd district of Lyon reinterprets the major classics of traditional Lyonnaise cuisine. You will be able to discover dishes made of local good quality products. As Monsieur Paul liked them, authentic and generous dishes.

The signature courses at Brasserie Le Nord ? The pike Quenelle and calf's liver.

For the most special events such as Christmas, New Year's Eve, Easter or Mother's Day, Brasserie Le Nord suggests a special menu to suit each event. This Brasserie as well as all our restaurants is open on every Monday, Sunday and public holiday.

Alexis BILLOUX

The chef of the Brasserie du Nord

Originally from Moulins, Chef Aupetit found his calling in the restaurant industry after developing a passion for cooking by watching his uncle, a professional chef. He went on to earn a CAP, BEP, and a vocational baccalaureate in hospitality and catering, enabling him to pursue a career in this field.

For five years, the Chef ran his own brasserie. He then broadened his experience by working in a variety of traditional restaurants and brasseries, including a Michelin-starred establishment as well as the restaurant Des Cours in Moulins.

A few years later, he took on a new challenge by launching a second business with a close friend, a venture that lasted seven years. In 2018, Chef Aupetit joined the Bocuse Group as Sous-Chef at Brasserie des Lumières, working alongside Jérôme Bernigaud. In 2020, he moved to Brasserie L’Est in Lyon’s 6th arrondissement, where he continued in the role of Sous-Chef. After several years in Lyon, he chose to embrace a new chapter in Annecy. In February 2022, Chef Aupetit was appointed Head Chef of Brasserie Irma, our lakeside restaurant in Annecy, by our Meilleurs Ouvriers de France Chefs.

Today, he brings all his expertise and energy to Brasserie Le Nord, where he offers a generous, convivial cuisine that reflects the spirit of our Houses. Rooted in Lyonnais tradition, his cooking elevates classic dishes such as tablier de sapeur, quenelle, and Lyonnaise salad, restoring them to their full nobility.

Under his leadership, Le Nord continues to embody the essence of the Bocuse Houses: a table where tradition, excellence, and the pleasure of sharing come together.

The Manager of Brasserie Le Nord

At the helm of Brasserie Le Nord, our Manager Quentin Lettner embodies the spirit of hospitality and conviviality that defines the reputation of the Bocuse Houses. A true ambassador of traditional Lyonnais gastronomy, he works every day to deliver an authentic experience where cuisine and Lyonnais hospitality come together in a warm and elegant setting.

His career reflects a deep commitment to excellence and to the traditions of our Houses. He joined Brasserie L’Ouest in 2021 as a Chef de Rang and was promoted to Head Chef de Rang in 2022. The following year, he continued his progression by joining Brasserie Le Nord as Assistant Manager, before being appointed Manager in September 2025. With a keen understanding of service, guest relations, and the Bocuse heritage, Quentin leads his teams with both kindness and high standards, ensuring that every guest enjoys an unforgettable moment in the heart of Lyon.

Under his leadership, Brasserie Le Nord remains true to its identity: an iconic restaurant where Lyonnais recipes are elevated by attentive service and a welcoming atmosphere.

In this house steeped in history, he carries on Paul Bocuse’s promise—to welcome every guest as a privileged visitor and to shine a light, day after day, on Lyonnais cuisine and its traditions.
